Today I found 7 cents . . . 1 nickel & 2 pennies.

The nickel was my first recorded find of the day. It was found by a ticket machine at the Chinatown Metro stop in DC. I found another penny on the ground outside of my office building in DC and a final penny by a parking meter on the walk home this evening.

Today I found 13 cents . . . 1 dime & 3 pennies. Change was found in two states and Washington, DC.

This morning I left for a two week business trip to Washington, DC. In the morning I was walking at Logan Airport and I found a penny on the ground near a ticketing area.

My flight had a layover in Newark, NJ, and in NJ I found a dime by a food stand, the name of which is escaping me at the moment.

After landing at Natinal Airport I found another two pennies while walking around; one by a food court and one in the concourse area.

Back to the real world, real work, and real cold temperatures; although by Boston standards it was a nice day. Walking to work this morning I found a penny by a parking meter on Washington Street. In the afternoon several co-workers and I headed out for lunch. Along the way I found a penny off of Causeway St (it was badly damaged, but clearly a penny) and another penny in the North End where we had lunch.

Today I found 8 cents . . . 1 nickel & 3 pennies. Change was found in three states; Florida, Illinois, and Massachusetts.

For the first time in a few weeks I actually have somewhere I have to be tomorrow . . . work. Today started at 5:00am as I woke up and headed to the Miami International Airport for my flight back to Boston. At the airport I found a penny by a Chinese food stand that was located past the TSA checkpoint.

My flight had a layover in Chicago and it was a short layover. However, I did have time to grab some food and find six cents (one nickel & one penny) at the airport food court.

Once I landed in Boston I caught the T for the ride home. While transferring from the Blue to the Orange line at State Street I found a penny in the terminal.

Today I found 15 cents . . . 1 nickel & 10 pennies.

As I type this I’m back on US soil for the first time in a week. This morning I was off the cruise ship by 8am and while waiting for a friend of Becca’s to pick us up I found two cents in the debarkation terminal. One penny was in some mulch and another was on a sidewalk.

Outside of Becca’s friend’s apartment I found five cents (all pennies) in some dirt by some shrubs and throughout the day I found another seven cents (one nickel & two pennies) walking around the Miami area.

The final find of the day, a lone penny, was appropriately found on a path leading from the beach. It was partially hidden in some sand, but it was retrieved and was added to the daily totals.

Today I found 25 cents . . . a quarter.

Sadly the cruise is quickly coming to an end. Today was another “Fun Day at Sea,” meaning that we spent the day heading back to Miami. Most of the day was spent soaking up some last minute sun and partaking in the onboard activities. My lone find of the day was a quarter that I retrieved from a slot machine in the ship’s casino.

Some of the "Fun Day at Sea" activities included a midnight buffet, with elaborate ice sculptures, including this dragon:

One thing is for sure, cruise ships know how to feed people!

Today I found 2 cents . . . both pennies.

The port of call for today was Cozumel, Mexico. It was a great day that was spent walking around the island and I had the chance to swim with some dolphins. The swim portion was a bit short, but it was still really cool to grab a hold of a dolphin and have it pull me around the water.

After the dolphin swim Becca and I walked around the island and I found two cents (both US pennies) at the base of a table near an outside restaurant.

Today I found a Belize nickel.

Nothing is more wonderful than going to sleep on a ship after a full day and waking up with a brand new adventure ahead of you. This morning when I woke up our ship was docked outside of Belize. Becca and I had signed up for some cave tubing and a rainforest hike and we had a blast. It rained the entire day, but since we had already planned on getting wet it wasn’t a big deal.

Once in Belize we boarded a bus to take us to the rain forests. After a 20 foot jump off a cliff into the river we boarded another bus to take us to the tubing area. It was on the second bus that I found the Belize nickel.

Today I found 25 cents . . . a quarter. I also have an additional 50 cents that I’m considering adding to the daily totals, but I’ll solicit feedback before doing it.

It was another lovely day in the Caribbean. Our ship docked at an island that is part of Honduras this morning and Becca and I spent the day doing some ocean kayaking and enjoying the beach.

Back onboard the ship I had a great view of the city

and found a quarter at the base of a black jack table in the ship’s casino.

Now, hear is a dilemma that I throw out for consideration. While waling through the casino I found a slot machine that had a few credits remaining on it. It wasn’t enough to cash out for money so I hit play and promptly won 50 cents, which I then cashed out. I’m not sure if the winnings would constitute a find and I’m willing to entertain any thoughts that are presented. Any ideas?

Today I found 26 cents . . . one quarter & one penny. I also found a Carnival Cruise Ship arcade token and six Grand Cayman pennies. Sadly, the token and foreign coins will not count toward the daily totals.

When I awoke this morning our ship had already docked at the Grand Cayman Island. Departing the ship this morning I found a quarter by the couch in the main lobby of the ship. I also found a US penny in the Caymans while walking along a road.

Becca and I decided not to book any shore excursions through the ship, but did head out to a turtle farm in the Caymans (picture below):

and then walked over to a nearby rock formation that is called Hell by the locals. Walking around the Caymans (mostly when heading from the turtle farm to Hell) I found six Grand Cayman pennies. Back onboard the ship I found the Carnival arcade token, just outside the arcade area and on the floor at the base of a coffee stand.

Sadly, the arcade token and foreign coins will not count toward the daily totals. Nevertheless, they have already been set aside and will soon be deposited into my “Not Change Cup,” keeper of such finds.

Today I found 25 cents . . . a quarter.

Monday was billed as a “Fun Day at Sea,” which is cruise ship talk for sailing and not docking at any port. Nevertheless, with 24 hour a day food and lots of onboard activities it was a good day.

I must admit that I was a bit worried about finding change on a cruise ship, as there are very few cash transactions that take place on a cruise ship. Everything from drink purchases to items in the gift shop are paid for by presenting your sailing card and are tallied and billed at the end of the week.

However, I survived the day when I found a quarter in some couch cushions next to the casino. The casino is one of the few places on the ship where cash is used, so hopefully that area will pay out for me as the week progresses.

Today I found 15 cents . . . 2 nickels & 5 pennies.

Today marked the end of my Florida portion of vacation and the start of my cruise portion of the vacation! Last night I flew from Orlando to Miami and today my ship sails for the Caribbean.

This morning Becca and I headed out for breakfast prior to heading to the ship and I found seven cents (one nickel & two pennies) on a sidewalk in South Beach Florida. Shortly thereafter I found another three pennies in a gutter along the same street. The pennies were sitting in some nasty looking water, but they were safely retrieved.

Below is a picture of our ship prior to sailing:

Once onboard the ship I took a walk around to familiarize myself with my new home for the next seven days. While walking through the ship casino I found five cents (a nickel) in the pay-out section of a nickel slot machine.

Penny number one of the day was found in the parking lot of a Wal-Mart in Haines City, FL. Several of my friends are renting a house for the week in Haines City and I went to Wal-Mart this morning to pick up a few essentials.

The second and final penny of the day was found at none other than Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL. The penny was picked up after I exited the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. Considering the price of admission it was a net loss for the day, but I had a good time nevertheless.

Today I found 73 cents . . . 2 dimes, 2 quarters, and 3 pennies. Change was found in three states; Massachusetts, New York, and Florida.

It was my first day of vacation and it was a long day. It started with a walk to the T this morning so I could head to Logan Airport for my flight to Florida. On the way to the T I found a penny outside of Foodies, a local urban market.

My flight connected through LaGuardia Airport in New York. The connection time was short and the TSA lines were long, but I did manage to find 11 cents (one dime & one penny) at the TSA Checkpoint in NY.

Once I got to Florida I found a penny on the floor of the Orlando airport and 60 cents (one dime & two quarters) in the change return slot of a pay station along the Florida Turnpike.

Walking home with my laundry I found a penny on the sidewalk and later in the evening when I went out for some food I found my fifth penny of the day outside of Foodies, a local urban market.

Tomorrow I leave for vacation to Florida to catch a few days of Spring Training baseball and then on a weeklong cruise. I’m not sure how Internet access is going to be, but I’ll try to post along the way. If not, I shall return on March 24th, tan and rested.

Today I found 6 cents . . . all pennies.

Another frigid day in Boston an another few pennies on the way to work. The first penny was found as I crossed a small road on the way to the T this morning. The second penny was found right before I entered the Back Bay/South End T station. As I bent down to pick it up my knee locked up a bit and hurt for most of the day, but it’s feeling a bit better now.

When I headed out of work this afternoon I was walking with my boss when I spotted and retrieved a penny from the base of a Dunkin Donuts stand in North Station. A few hours earlier we had been discussing pennies so he didn’t bat an eye when I made my find.

On the platform at North Station I spotted and retrieved three pennies from the ground. I’m ashamed to admit this, but I was standing in the spot where I found the pennies for about three minutes before I finally noticed them on the ground. Hopefully I’m not loosing my touch!

I finally got to visit my local post office this morning. The negative is that it closes early, but on the bright side it is open at 7:30am every morning, so I was able to drop off an eBay package on the way to work. At the post office I found a penny on the ground by the front window.

After the post office trip I stared my walk to work and found two cents (both pennies). The first was on a sidewalk and the second (the third of the day) was in a gutter along the same street.

Penny number four was found at the Haymarket T stop this afternoon. I had met a friend down at City Hall for lunch and decided to be lazy and take the T back to work.

Today I found $1.04 . . . 1 Presidential Dollar coin (John Adams) and 4 pennies.

The day started a bit bleak, as it was the first day since moving to Boston that I did not find change on my commute to work. Nevertheless, things picked up quickly as I took some pennies to the Hanscom Federal Credit Union to empty into the coin counting machine. A penny caught my eye at the base of the machine and upon closer inspection I found a penny and the John Adams Presidential dollar coin.

I had lunch in the building cafeteria this afternoon and on the floor by the napkin and condiment dispensers I found a penny.

In the evening I had to take a detour on the way home and swing by Logan Airport to redeem a flight certificate for an upcoming trip. On the way home I passed through the State Street T stop and I found two pennies on the platform while waiting for the Orange Line T.
