Today I found 2 cents. . . both pennies. I also found a New York subway token, which sadly will not count toward the daily totals.

Penny number one of the day was found near a McDonalds stand at North Station this morning. Penny number two was found in the cafateria at work this afternoon.

The New York subway token, which sadly will not count toward the daily totals, was found in the reject slot of a change counting machine at my local credit union. The machine was running a bit slow today so the staff opened it up to see what was going on. The problem? There was a bullet that was in the machine. No one was quite sure how it got there, but I'm quite glad it's out now.

Anyhow, the New York subway token has already been placed into my "Not Change Cup," keeper of such found items.

So, I have always loved Opening Day in baseball, even if it was a day late. I have been at an Opening Day in at least one city for 17 consecutive years. In that span I have seen Opening Days in Baltimore, Houston, Washington, and now Boston. Good times, and I'm glad baseball is back.

Another full day of apartment searching. The first 12 cents (one dime & two pennies) were found in a planter outside Foodies, a local urban market. It is likely that someone leaving the store decided to deposit their change in said planter. The nickel was found at the apartment that I have decided to rent. Perhaps it was the washer and dryer in the unit that did it for me . . . or perhaps it was the nickel in the parking lot. We shall never know.
