Today I found 2 cents. . both pennies. I also found two Canadian pennies, a Canadian dime, and a smushed elongated penny. Sadly, the later shall not count toward the daily totals.

The two pennies were found in the coin return slot of a change counting machine at the credit union in my office building.

The Canadian pennies, dime, and smushed elongated penny (a Red Sox World Series penny) were also found in the reject slot of the aforementioned coin counting machine. Although they will not count toward the daily totals they have already been placed in my "Not Change Cup," keeper of such found items.

Today I found 40 cents . . 1 dime, 1 quarter, and 5 pennies.

Heading to the ballpark this afternoon I passed through North Station and found two pennies at the base of a McDonalds stand. At Fenway Park, America's Most Beloved Ballpark, I found another 28 cents (one quarter & three pennies). The first penny was by a walkway and I found it right when I entered the ballpark. The other two pennies were at the base of a trashcan by a food stand. The quarter was found under a seat after the game.

One the way home from the game I ended my day with a dime that I spotted in a crosswalk. It was dark, but the light from a street lamp gave the dime just enough shine to be spotted.

Today I found 11 cents . . 1 nickel & 6 pennies.

This morning I found seven cents (one nickel and two pennies) while walking from the T at North Station to my office. All the change was in the walkway that connects the T portion of North Station to the commuter rail section.

This afternoon I headed over to Fenway Park, America's Most Beloved Ballpark, to catch the Indians v. Sox game. At Kenmore station I found a penny by a ticket machine and then another penny by the exit to the station.

Later in the evening I found another two pennies in the stands at Fenway after the game. The Red Sox win earned them a playoff spot, and eliminated the much hated Yankees. It was fun to see, but the lavish celebration for what might turn out to be the Wildcard seemed a bit much considering the team won the World Series last year.

This morning Becca and I visited a community yard sale in Waltham, MA. My one goal was to find a pizza stone. I had one in the past but it did not make the move and is currently being used by my former co-worker Jennifer. I am happy to report that I did find the pizza stone, for a cool $2. I also found 65 cents (one nickel, one dime, and two quarters) while walking about the neighborhood.

Later in the day Becca and I headed over to Arlington to visit with some friends and we went to explore a local street fare. Walking around I found a penny on the ground, in close proximity to a Thai food stand.

On the way home I was back at Downtown Crossing, where I found another three cents on the T platform.

The Canadian change was all found in the change return slot of a change counting machine at my local credit union. Although it will not count toward the daily totals they have already been placed in my "Not Change Cup," keeper of such items.

Farewell to the Legend

Today I found 25 cents . . 2 dimes & 5 pennies.

The first 13 cents (one dime & three pennies) were found by a McDonalds stand at North Station. On the way home I found another penny at North Station and a penny on the sidewalk by the Back Bay T stop. The final find of the day, a dime, was recorded on the floor at Harry O's, a local sub shop.

In January 2005, a friend and I sat in chairs in the mountains of Hawaii discussing (over a few drinks) the number of coins that were lost every year by Americans. There was no answer, but I did some Internet research and stumbled upon a brilliantly written blog by Brian, of New Jersey. Brian provided the inspiration for this blog, which was subsequently started as a race between myself and another friend, Bailey.

Yesterday Brain made his final change post. Over the years I have enjoyed reading Brian's blog, following his results, and watching his young son grow up. Today the blog world seems a little more empty than it was the day before. Farewell, Brian.

Walking to work this morning I found a penny opposite Foodies, a local urban market. On the way home I found three pennies, scattered about on the sidewalk along Washington Street.

Today I found 1 cent . . a penny.

It was found on the platform of the tran stop at Back Bay.

Another cool evening in Boston and another night at Fenway Park, America's Most Beloved Ballpark. Yesterday I got Dick Vitale to sign a baseball and this evening it was none other than The World's Richest Man, Mr. Warren Buffet. Here is a (although not very clear) picture of him signing:

And here is the final product:

He actually went almost all the way around the baseball, so I could only snap a picture of the last name. Still, when one is worth $63 Billion one can sign a baseball however they want.

Today I found 2 cents . . all pennies.

The first was at the base of a Dunkin Donuts stand at Back Bay and the second was, you guessed it, at the base of a Dunkin Donuts stand at North Station.

This evening I paid a visit to Fenway Park, America's Most Beloved Ballpark, and watched the first place Tampa Bay Rays play the Sox. However, for me the excitement was prior to the game when I saw none other than Hall of Fame Broadcaster Dick Vitale in the stands. He was kind enough to sign a baseball for me:

I'm generally not a fan of marker on a baseball, but it turned out nice.
